  • Delivery distance– Locally within 250 miles
  • Out of season or non-native food– Current Market considerations in NYC demand out of season and non-native food shipped from CA or Central America. By replacing a portion of it by growing in efficient Greenhouses using renewable resources (see next section), we reduce the carbon footprint. USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has provided two grants to us in 2018 for two high tunnels. They are set to provide two more grants in 2019.
  • Refrigeration Energy– Our business plan is marketing fresh food. Refrigeration is minimally required till the next market date. Irrespective, the refrigeration units shall be operating. So we are pursuing installing Solar panels to provide this energy.
